Open Access Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Islamization Studies (INJAS) is firmly committed to the principles of open access, operating under the conviction that making scholarly work freely accessible to the public accelerates global knowledge exchange, fosters academic collaboration, and strengthens the development of Islamic studies. All articles published in INJAS are immediately and permanently available online without subscription fees, paywalls, or access barriers. Under this open access framework, readers worldwide are granted unrestricted permission to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of all articles, as well as to use and build upon published works in accordance with the terms of the journal's applied licensing policy.

CC BY 4.0: All articles published in INJAS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Under the terms of this license, users are free to share, copy, and redistribute the material in any medium or format, as well as adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the content for any purpose, including commercial applications. These permissions are granted provided that appropriate credit is given to the author(s) and INJAS as the original venue of publication, a direct link to the license is included, and any modifications or derivative changes made to the original work are clearly indicated. In strict accordance with DOAJ guidance, INJAS ensures that Creative Commons licenses are applied without modification or additional contractual restrictions that might conflict with open access principles.

License: In line with DOAJ recommendations regarding author rights, authors retain full, unrestricted copyright and publishing rights to their work without transferring ownership to the journal. Authors grant INJAS a non-exclusive license for first publication and dissemination, allowing the journal to publish and index the final work. Authors maintain complete freedom to reproduce, distribute, and share their published articles across personal websites, academic networks, and institutional repositories at any time. Furthermore, authors are empowered to use their published articles for educational instruction, conference presentations, derivative works, and future research endeavors, provided that proper academic attribution to INJAS as the original publisher is maintained. INJAS explicitly rejects the application of "All rights reserved" statements, exclusive rights transfers, or restrictive fair-use limitations that contradict open access scholarship.

Archiving: To ensure the long-term accessibility, integrity, and permanent digital preservation of all published scholarly content, INJAS employs a multi-tiered archiving strategy. For permanent public preservation - beside PKP-PN (automatic), every published article and issue is deposited in the Internet Archive [https://archive.org/details/injas], a globally recognized digital repository, complete with persistent identifiers and full-text PDF files to ensure perpetual public availability regardless of website changes or journal operations. Secondary long-term preservation and institutional visibility are maintained through the Universitas Darussalam Gontor Institutional Repository. Additionally, for internal editorial workflow, document security, and continuous accessibility during the review process, the publisher maintains a secure repository on Google Drive for backup storage of manuscripts, supplementary files, and editorial communications.
